Air Force STEM Offers Summer Camps for Kids in Grades 5-12

ROME, NY — The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI), in partnership with the Griffiss Institute (GI) and Innovare Advancement Center, is proud to once again offer STEM Summer Camps to students, in grades 5-12, and current STEM funding has made it possible to provide summer camps FREE of charge in 2022!

“The Air Force Research Lab Information Directorate is excited to offer STEM Summer Camps once again. Our offerings this year include Arduino Camp, LEGO Robotics Camp, Drone Camp, Quantum Camp, and Cyber Camp. The Innovare Advancement Center is a great location to host the camps. We believe this summer will be just as successful as past summers,” says Jeff DeMatteis, AFRL/RI STEM Outreach Coordinator.

Our STEM Summer Camps will engage your child in new and exciting experiences this summer! Kids imagine, collaborate, explore and create all while learning super cool STEM skills that will help them in school and in life!

 

The following STEM Summer Camps will be offered for the 2022 year:

IN-PERSON CAMPS

Arduino Camp

Dates: Monday, July 11 – Thursday, July 14, 2022 | Grades: 8 – 12

LEGO Robotics Camp

Dates: Monday, July 18 – Friday, July 22, 2022 | Grades: 5 – 8

Drone Camp

Dates: Monday, August 1 – Friday, August 5, 2022 | Grades: 9 – 12

Quantum Innovation Camp

Dates: Monday, August 15 – Thursday, August 18, 2022 | Grades: 9 – 12

VIRTUAL CAMPS

Cyber Camp 1.0

Dates: Monday, July 25 – Friday, July 29, 2022 | Grades: 9 – 12

CYBER CAMP 2.0

Dates: Monday, August 1 – Friday, August 5, 2022 | Grades: 9 – 12

 

Online registration for the 2022 STEM summer camps will open at 11:00 AM, on Monday, May 23, and will remain open until all camps are filled. Current STEM funding has made it possible to provide summer camps FREE of charge in 2022!

Due to the severe weather conditions and state of emergency declared by the City of Rome, Rome Labs & Innovare Advancement Center will be closed on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. This closure affects all Griffiss Institute staff, residents, guests, and program participants, including STEM campers, interns, visiting faculty, fellows, and incubator clients.
